We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Thank you!!!

Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural Central Oregon Maker Faire. Seeing so many of your happy faces is truly why we wanted to bring a Maker Faire to our community. With the dozens of exhibitors and well over one thousand attendees, I'd say our community agrees!

Getting an event like this off the ground is no small feat. But some in our community saw the immense potential, and stepped up to support us. I'd like to thank our major sponsors: Bend Cultural Tourism Fund, Deschutes County Fairgrounds, and Make.co

I know that most of you have not experienced a "Faire" like this, and may not have known what to expect. Hopefully you can now see it isn't anything like the normal street fairs and bazaars we are used to; It's hands on, immersive, and experiential. We hope you walked away feeling that you got more from the experience than you thought. I, personally, loved learning from our expert panel on innovation, the 14 foot 3D printer, and the AMAZING 16 foot kinetic sculpture, the Fleur De LUX, that made its debut as a beacon of light in front of the Expo Center.

From this huge success, our next step is to build our community of makers and unite like-minded individuals who didn't know there are others that share their passions.

As we gear up for the next Maker Faire this Summer, stay in touch with the maker community with our newsletter. This was all coordinated by the nonprofit "High Desert Makers", and we hold a "Maker Monday"  on the first Monday of each month to give time and space to meet others and share ideas. Also, with the newsletter you will be first in line to learn dates and activities for the Summer Faire!

"Making" is such an amazing portal to helping people realize their dreams, pull themselves out of difficult situations, and bring balance to an unbalanced world. Thank you for being a part of this Maker Movement, and bringing more joy to those around you.
